Stopped reading when they tried to tell me Creator won the Ky Derby which was run on a Thursday. Always run on Saturday around the first of May. Creator came in 13th. If they can't get those facts right, why should I believe anything I read.

I thought Israel was God's chosen land and people? This book was all over the place and I found many of the prophesies inconsistent with the Bible. I was expecting so much more. Pray hard before spending your money on this book.

I started reading with an open mind. At first it was difficult for me to see where Mark was leading me. Finally I began to see that God had to bring Mark all the way down before he was ready to use him to bring one of the most amazing & timely prophecies to anxious & waiting Christians, hungry for an answer as to what was happening all around us. I was so thrilled to realize that it actually was God who orchestrated a scenario that would bring an imperfect but willing man into the White House under IMPOSSIBLE odds to show His glory and power and plans for America. Yes, God had been preparing Donald Trump for many years for His plans to bring good & decent Americans who loved God & country a way to unite together & turn America back into a Christian nation. Showing His glory, God helped Trump win an election rigged heavily against him by evil actors in high places in the crooked government ruined by the previous administration. I praise God for the encouragement I find in this book & have set in place with my wife ways that we can get involved to be of some use in this amazing plan God has for our country.

This book explains everything we are watching unfold in our country right now. It is amazing to see I feel an excitement for our country and future. God Bless America and God Bless Donald Trump.

An interesting read. I'm extremely cautious about people, especially authors, who talk a lot about getting special words from God. It may be true or it might not be true, and as far as I'm concerned it's between the individual and God. What this book does remind us, however is the need to treat what's happening in our country as a spiritual war, the importance of our daily Christian walk, and the necessity of daily intercessory prayer for our country and our President.

This book could have been condensed into one chapter and sold as a pamphlet. He spends more time on corporate 501 c 3 then I'm Trump prophecies. The book doesn't even mention the Mueller investigation the FBI the doj or any of what's currently happening in the news.

The best way I can describe this book is with a shoulder shrug and "Ehhhh". I am extremely cautious of "prophets" who parse out their "prophecies" into bite sized morsels to keep the masses hanging on every word - and "prophets" who endeavor to sell their "prophesies".I must admit that I found the book interesting, but not riveting. I can relate to his brief biography having dealt with extreme depression and PTSD myself.

Mark has done a thorough job of presenting what he believes the Lord has revealed to him. The only negative to me is that he obviously doesn't recognize Catholics as Christians and knows nothing of the massive prayer effort we performed for the election of Trump as well.

I gave this book 3 stars because I agree with previous reviewers that the quality of the stories is uneven. Some I'd definitely have given 4 stars and some only 2. Perhaps we are not correctly identifying the issue here, however. Perhaps it is just that readers obviously have different tastes and respond best to stories that reflect their preferences.So, without intending to denigrate the work of any of the writers included in the collection, I'm going to be very specific about some of my likes and my dislikes.Among those I enjoyed:"The Judgement" by Anne Perry--This one or Rusch's work was definitely my favorite in the book."Corpse Vision" by Kristine Kathryn Rusch"The Unicorn Hunt" by Michelle West"Star of David" by Patricia Briggs--Although the ending was sentimental, still I found the story satisfyingAnd a couple that disappointed or actually annoyed me:"The Night of Their Lives" by Max Allans Collins--It seemed to me that the whole point of the story was merely to arrive at the final sentence, and that just wasn't enough for me."Ninja Rats on Harleys" by Elizabeth A Vaughan--This story annoyed me more than any other in the book. Why? Because there was so much to like about it. I loved the writing, the cast of characters, and the premise. Having established this much, however, the author just stopped. There was no real story here (no there...there). It read like the first chapter of a novel--a novel I might well have enjoyed quite a bit. As is, however, the story more than disappointed.

So glad I purchased this book! Seriously, I enjoyed every single story in this collection and that's just not the norm. Lately, any anthology I've purchased I've only enjoyed maybe half of the stories and in past collections there were usually only one or two that weren't to my taste.I know I'll reread this collection again and again because I love to revisit great writing! And I have a LOT of new authors to check out. Something that I really appreciated about this anthology is that even when it was obvious that the story was situated in a world the author had created, I didn't feel lost in that world or as if I was missing anything - there was plenty of context for someone who hadn't read whatever series it might have originated from.

This was a terrific read! It is a collection of short stories by authors that write paranormal fiction. I have read other works by some of these authors and was delighted to find that they write short stories as terrific as their longer works. The stories are suspenseful, engaging, and will leave you wanting more. I recommend this to anyone who reads paranormal books.

I don't give a five star very often, but I cam close here. Rating systems like this frustrate me since the best leader i ever had routinely gave us 3 ratings. When I pushed the reply was: "i expect you to perform at the highest professional level. When you do that you meet my expectations. That level of performance may exceed the expectations of others. Do you want to work for someone who has lower standards? I expect the best and you give it. What's the problem?" I started this book with very high expectations. These authors met those expectations. I ended each story thinking that I have to read more by this author.

The first story is great, the others are good, but lack the "something" that différenciante a "short story" from a regular story cut short. They feel more like excerpts from longer works. Still, a good way to get to know several authors and their worlds.

As a mom with a baby and a toddler, I had forgotten how enjoyable reading can be. These short stories by some of my favorite authors could be read in bite sized snippets. I was honestly saddened to read the last word.

Being a collection of stories I, of course, like some better than others. The best ones made me think or gave me an expected ending.

I loved the chance to dip into unknown writing. Short stories allow a reader to try a writer out without the commitment of a whole book.

A must read for anyone that enjoys champagne. Not only does it tell the story of a woman struggling to run a business in a time of war when women were often treated like chattel. My favorite vignette was about when after trying to ship her champagne west and then east during the Napoleonic Wars her efforts to hide her wine behind walls when the Russian Calvary arrived at her chateau shouting for more champagne before they rode off to battle. A good read.

The Widow Clicquot as a historical figure is fascinating. The author explains several times that gathering material for this books was difficult, and as a result many of the facts are repeated often throughout the book in order to fill the pages. The author includes interesting tidbits about the wine industry and the French Revolution(s) but if you're looking for an in depth historical piece, this is not it. I enjoyed the book mostly for the mystery of the Widow and the evolution of the champagne industry in general.

This book is about the life of the Clicquot widow who created a champagne empire after her husband passed away. There are too many distractions away from the main theme, by having detailed background of the political goings on in France, its rivalry with England, and the political maneuverings taking place. In my opinion, the book could have been cut in half by not including so much political information, and just telling the story of the widow and how she came to be, for some time, the number one champagne producer and exporter in France. Ancillary information about France's politics just drags the book, and often put me to sleep.

I watched Professor Mazzeo's video course on writing creative non-fiction, offered through The Great Courses, and she mentions the book many times. I read both for the story and to see how she handled the challenges inherent in writing such a book. I was thoroughly delighted. This is a fun story that will enhance your knowledge of wine, France and the 19th Century business world.

The author takes pains to point out how barren the historical materials were in trying to recreate the life of the grand dame of champagne. To compensate she immersed herself in what was available, actual account books, family letters, news accounts, portraits of the family, etc. She, apparently, spent much time in the same French areas that the Clicquots family occupied and put herself in The Widows shoes to imagine what motivations must have driven her entrepreneurial instincts. The Widow comes alive in the book.

Fascinating chronicle of the life of the Widow Clicquot, who ran the family champagne business after her husband died. This was unheard of a few hundred years ago! I learned a great deal about the making of champagne, plus the strength of the brand. Enjoyed a bottle of the Widow after I finished the book, excellent combination.

I purchased this book in advance of a trip to France wine country. I was looking for some insight into the history of the Champagne region and the woman who made such a major impact on the Champagne industry. This book delivered on both of those topics. While not much is known about the Widow Clicquot's younger years, the author did an admirable job of painting a picture of what her life was probably like based on what is generally known about French society and local politics at the time. The evolution of the Champagne business through the lens of this family-owned winery was also interesting, and even suspenseful as the author took us through the strategies and risks employed by the Widow in her pursuit to create a great Champagne house. The only drawback to the book is that it felt repetitive at times. Perhaps since not a lot is known about the details of the Widow's life, some of the same information was covered in different contexts throughout the chapters. In all, however, I recommend the book for anyone interested in the rise of the Champagne industry and insights into this particular woman who was so instrumental in that rise.

Interesting read on the history of champagne. I craved champagne while reading. The book is a slow read and could have conveyed the story just as well if it was a bit more concise. It tended to drag on. I don't know if this was a flaw om my kindle or a problem with the book but my percent complete number was 'off'. When I finished the book, (even after the afterward and acknowledgments) it said I was only at 63% complete. This drives me crazy as the book already seemed too long and when I was reading, I kept thinking that I could not imagine how the author could drag the book out for that much longer. This is a smaller sized version of several highly illustrated editions of pirate books, and textually wise, better than some. There is a big book out there "A World Wide Illustrated History: PIRATES -- Terror on the High Seas from the Caribbean to the South China Sea", also edited by David Cordingly; that one is much larger, even better illustrated, but the test leaves something to be desired. This one is smaller, thiner, but also with fine visuals, but also a better textual treatment of the subject. I like both of these books, but prefer this one for the reading, and the other for the looking. Get both, if you can find them cheap enough. This volume does go a bit deeper into the subject matter than some others and may be one of the better basic studies. Read A General History of Pirates by Capt. Charles Johnson (1724) for the standard version of the stories of individual pirates (reading books 300 years old can be a little bit of a challenge, but you get used to it).The contents of this book provide a history of piracy from ancient times to the present and cover a wide variety of topics. One herein will learn of piracy in the Middle Ages and the development of the corsairs of North Africa. It gives a thorough picture of the whole spectrum of activities along the Spanish Main from the earliest days onward, and does not concentrate on the so-called "Golden Age". There is further a chapter on piracy in the South China Sea. The book features good maps in addition to the other copious illustrations. This book is also somewhat devoid of the sensationalism which many of the earlier works provided, and one does not get a lot of the "pirates as a cultural phenomena" stuff. This a a good, solid, overall history of the sea robbers as the real things.

This is a wonderfully written book which is a history of piracy from its roots in ancient Egypt right up to the present day. The book not only discusses the "Golden Age of Piracy" when Morgan, Blackbeard and Captain Kidd plied their trade in the Caribbean, but it also covers the extensive pirate activity in the ancient world as well as its modern manifestation. The links between the breakdown of social order or a political power vacuum and its effects on the rise of piracy during various historical ages are addressed as is the centuries long pirate conflict between Islam and Christendom during the Middle Ages and Renaissance. This is a well written historical work and the pirates are portrayed as the frequently ruthless and bloodthirsty men (and some women) they were rather than as the charming rogues of so many Hollywood motion pictures. The book is also full of detailed full color maps and pictures relating to piracy which both ably supplements the text as well as being esthetically pleasing in their own right. The principle author Angus Konstam was a commentator on a recent History Channel documentary on piracy and his in-depth knowledge of the subject makes this book enjoyable by both a serious student of the subject as well as the newly interested reader. In these days of "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies and the "Pirate Master" reality show this book is a welcome dose of historical fact into a subject which has been long been dominated by romantic fantasies

This is an Osprey book, so you need to think in terms of an adult version of the Eyewitness picture books. You shouldn't expect an exhaustively comprehensive treatment of the subject, after all they tend to be only 1/4 inch thick.So, with expectations aligned, this is a fairly well done treatment of the subject of pirates from the Golden Age of Piracy. There are quite a few pictures to compliment the text and the topics covered include their origins, dress, tactics, flags, ports and ships. Konstam gives us some brief biographies of a few of the famous names like Teach, Bonny, Reade, Rackam, Vane, Every, Bonnet, Kidd and the Dread Pirate Roberts.An excellent overview suitable for adolescents and adults, for more detail on William Kidd I suggest Richard Zacks' The Pirate Hunter, for more of an overview of piracy through the ages I suggest Konstam's The History of Pirates.

This is a great book to anyone interested on this period and in piracy.Angus Konstam's text is both concise and accurate,while Angus McBride's illustrations are certainly some of the best I have ever seen.The book is mostly about British pirates which should be expected,since Osprey is from Great Britain,and British sailors were always inclined towards piratical activities.The sections on pirate warfare and pirate codes are particularly nice,and you get biographies on such pirates as Blackbeard and Captain Kidd as well.The only thing I miss is a color cut-away illustration of a pirate ship.Even though,I must say It's an A+ job from front to back cover.

This is one of the best decks I have seen. Clear messages and amazingly metaphorical imagery. The Divine is to be found throughout this deck both in the images and in the messages. There are 52 gold gilded cards of a good stock. They are on the thin side but good for shuffling. The 204 page guidebook separates the card message interpretations into 5 categories: essential, oracle, prosperity, relationship and protection providing for Divine insight into a vast number of questions and concerns. I just received it but I am certain this deck will be one of the first I go to for insight for myself and others from now on. I am in awe. I know I haven't scratched the surface of this deck yet but I am ready. It's beautiful.Update: after using this deck for two days... Wow! The accuracy is impeccable. The messages are uplifting and motivating. This might be my new favorite deck!

I was extremely excited that my oracle deck arrived today. This deck is very different than Colette's usual style, as she notes in the guide book. They have been spot on in the readings that I have done. I think that users, even novice, will delight in the wisdom that has been divided into four aspects delivered for each card. Many of us cringe when our card is reversed. In this deck the reversed card has a message of protection, which takes the negative vibe away and delivers a positive message from the Oracle...she is looking out for you and in a gentle way heeds some loving advice.

I'm still getting to know this deck, and will probably post an update. The artwork is ethereal and whimsical and features delicately wrought scenes in gentle pastel washes. This is my first deck by this author (although I have used some of her apps). Interestingly, there are several interpretations for each card (general, prosperity, relationships, protection). When giving readings for others, you may want to explain this to them beforehand so that they can decide whether they want a general or specific reading. I usually give them the general oracle message unless their message deals with a specific area, such as work. I'm not a professional reader--I just pull occasional cards for friends. The artwork is lovely, very feminine. There are no males in this deck--something which, I'm embarrassed to admit, I hadn't noticed until a reviewer on another site pointed it out. I can see that this author has taken previous criticisms (largely of the presence of reversed cards in her other decks) to heart--in this case, reversals have been changed to protection messages and the artwork and messages are largely gentle and positive. Recommended. Do a Google Image search if you'd like to see more of the deck. I plan to add several pages from the guidebook to this review so you can have a sense of it.

If you, like me, have a difficult time connecting to oracle decks, I strongly suggest this deck. This deck is incredibly accurate and insightful. I was drawn to the artwork almost immediately and it looks even better in person. Most importantly, the artwork is not just pretty images with keywords slapped on. The symbolism ties in perfectly with the extensive meanings discussed in the guidebook. It seems like it could work really well for those who prefer to read intuitively! That being said, the guidebook is EXCELLENT. It gives you five meanings for each card (including reversals) that perfect for approaching all kinds of questions.If you're on the fence about getting this, I highly encourage you to go for it!
