I wanted an Instant Pot to be able to cook real food during busy times rather than being tempted by pre-packaged or take out food. A majority of the recipes that I have seen from other source have ingredients like cans of soup or dry mixes that I would never use. Other books also have so many exotic ingredients that most home cooks don't have on hand. This book has so many recipes that use real food and ingredients that I either already have on hand or would also use for multiple recipes. There is nothing more frustrating than buying a bunch of spices that will only be used for one recipe that you may never make again. The book is organized in a way to easily find what you are interested in cooking.

This book has a great array of wonderful meals and desserts that are both simple and delicious! I love the recipe collection and also that she gives the long way of cooking as well. Everything is explained well if you are a pressure cooker beginner or have experience you will appreciate this book. Cool!

Perfect for someone new to Instant Pot, which I am, having had my Instant Pot for a little over a month. The book has so much more than just the wonderfully delicious sounding recipes. It provides information on what and how to pressure cook, how to choose a pressure cooker and how to translate traditional recipes into pressure cooker recipes.This cookbook fits so well into my way of eating -I'm very impressed! All the recipes are so healthy - I haven't come across anything with processed oils. I'm a Nurse practitioner and often recommend this way of eating for my patients - I would definitely recommend this book to them since they so often have no clue what a plant-based diet can look like. Can't wait to start making some of these recipes. Props to the author! Thanks

I bought the hard copy cookbook and it was a total disappointment. Once you open the book, it looks like all of the pages were photocopied back in 1985. Everything is in black and white - even the pictures! The photos stop on page 11 and there are no more pictures for the rest of the 113 page book. The recipes are not very appetizing unless you like Mahi Mahi Chili or Sorghum Raisin Meal.

I purchased this because it had good reviews and I could get it quickly. It also had a lot of recipes. But, when I received the book it was made from cheap construction-like paper that seemed very frail. The recipes were just listed in the book with very little organization. The book was virtually devoid of photographs. I did not count the amount of recipes in the book, but I am not convinced that there were 550 of them. And, the recipes did not seem to be very interesting unless you were a health nut or were opposed to tasty, meaty food. To be clear, I did not try any of the recipes and I did very little looking through the book. I was ultimately turned off by the layout/organization, lack of photos, and the construction of the book. I guess for the price it might be reasonable, but it was not what I was looking for.

This cookbook doesn't even deserve one star. I bought this as a gift but would be embarrassed to give this cheaply made book as a gift. The pages are falling out. Less than 100 recipes. Not sure how you would get 550 days of recipes as stated on the cover. A few black and white photos. Only 113 pages.Don't waste your money. I found a better cookbook at Target for less money since a needed the gift for Christmas.

Horrible!!! Really Horrible and deceiving. Note the cover says 550 quick and easy days of instant pot. I don’t know what kind of math the author uses but it is a total of 89 recipes. Very cheaply made, NOT affiliated with Instant Brand as the picture on the cover may make you think. This looks like it was made at a local Kinkos. Recipes are elementary, rely heavily on Latin food as well as healthy goat cheese, coconut milk, chia seeds. Ugh!!! NONE of this is expressed in the ad. Ridiculous waste of money.

Please ignore all the positive reviews. I suspect they are fake anyway. One is from Oscar Wilde - please. This book is just a rewrite or another Kindle Instant Pot recipe book. The introduction is word for word from a book I previously purchased. Funny how the two 'authors' have different names but the same bio. Also, it's supposed to have common ingredients. The first egg recipe I looked at called for goat cheese and oysters. Uh huh. Keep shopping for a better book!

camus is one of my very few favorite writers ... mystical, ethical, poetic prose. i particularly love the book that collects his lyrical and critical essays ... especially his writing about algiers, algeria, and his travels around europe. what an amazing person and writer. his underground writing, editing and publishing in france during the nazi control of france takes my breath away. and now, with this new publication of his "algerian chronicles," we have a sense of his birth in a french slum in algiers, his maturation there, and his deep, intellectual knowledge and assessment of the french control of algiers and his personal experience of being born there, growing up there, and the realities of cultural differences that can lead to conflict and bloodshed. camus is easily one of my very greatest of writers. this new translation solidifies that.

I discovered Camus about 2 years ago and instantly fell in love with him. I was allowed to use him as a topic for an essay in my French class. I picked up this book because I thought I might find some interesting aspects of his life. I began by skimming through the book and was quickly hooked and read the entire thing in two days and gained quite an education in the process. Camus writes so passionately that one can't help but feel the same compassion and outrage that Camus did. I'm so glad I decided to use this book. Not only did it educate me on a topic I was totally ignorant of, but it introduced me to a side of Camus I wasn't familiar with and has made me grow to love and appreciate him even more.

What an amazing man! Here is someone who really put all he had behind his beliefs and convictions and even then.......These are articles Camus wrote for Le Monde and an attempt to keep France from a very stupid and costly war and one that was very destructive for Algeria. His thinking is flawless but he found himself not ignored or vilified in France and listened too incorrectly in Algeria. Sadly he did not live to see his beloved mother country free itself. Beautifully translated in the exact style Camus uses when he writes in French - concise, lazer observations from a great man.

Reading anything not previously available from Albert Camus is of course a pleasure. These essays while dated are nonetheless insightful for the subtlety of Camus's argument and the careful way he constructs his case using statistics, first hand reporting and humanitarian concern all rendered in elegant prose. However, the subject matter here is confined to this one topic and can't reach the scope and the power of his essay collection Resistance, Rebellion and Death. For anyone who hasn't read it, I would recommend starting there..

What is old is new again. The same situation is being repeated over and over. Algeria is the historical road map for all of the modern terror movements (Al-Qa`ida) and anyone who wants a good overview of what is going on needs to FIRST go back to Algeria and get a good solid foundation on what happened there to then move forward and look anew at all that is going on in the world today.

We have a child with Down Syndrome & we bought this to read with her preschool-age sister. I like the concept of this book. However, the quality of most of the photos in this book is pretty bad. They're blurry, bad family snapshots. It really detracts from the book. The other thing I should mention is that I found myself having to edit the book as I read to my 3 & 1/2 year old, because on one page, Ben mentions a few fears, including that when his parents go out, they'll never come back. I didn't need to plant that seed in my little one's head. So perhaps the book is geared towards older children. The features common to DS that were mentioned were sometimes odd...for instance, Ben says something about how he might fall down when he runs, or something about his almond shape eyes (but not the crease underneath)...Overall, it's a good concept but I think the writing could use a little tweaking and the photos could use a complete overhaul.

While this is a very simple book with very simple photos, it did the trick on helping our daughter get comfortable with being a wonderful little girl with Down syndrome.

On my quest to find the perfect book to discuss Down syndrome with peers and siblings I cam across 'Hi, I'm Ben'. It's a cute & simple book. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but not a disappointment either.

I was very happy with the book, but I was highly disappointed with the shipping. The first copy arrived very damaged and after I shipped it back, the second one was also damaged (although not as badly). The book has a paper cover, so its not very durable, but I wanted to have this book for my daughter who has a sibling with DS.

Awesome book that I have read to my son's class for two years in a row now. Simple concepts for young children but also has the ability to expand concepts through Q & A for kids as they grow.Great resource for me to bring to my son's classroom. !!

This book is really great I recently bought it for a uni assignment to do with early childhood and it was a great book to share. I like this book because it focuses on ben as a child and not a child with a disability. It's a very positive book it draws on ben's experiences of being a child that a child without a disability would encounter and it also discusses briefly the disability but it's done in such a positive way. I would definitely recommend it.

This is a cute little book that introduces Down's Syndrome to young children in an easy to understand way. Good photos and child friendly writing. Love it!

I'm giving this manual two stars, and here's why: This "4th edition" manual was obviously never revised since the first printing. Many of the base cases referenced as being a source to make other cases from are now themselves obsolete and no longer manufactured. Many of the brands/companies referenced as being a source for base cases have changed hands 2 or 3 times are no longer in business. Furthermore, many of the techniques or base cases recommended in the manual have been superseded by better techniques or base cases in the last 20 years - a testament to how out of date this manual is. Here's one example: To make the .577 Snider, the manual recommends using .577 Nitro Express cases sourced from BELL. BELL hasn't been around since 2002, and Jamison Intl. who bought BELL went out of business in 2011. Regarding their recommended base case (.577 N.E.) - you can make .577 Snider and many other cartridges from brass 24 gauge cases which cost $1 each - as opposed to .577 N.E. cases which cost about $4 each. While some of the conversions and techniques are still useful and applicable, overall I'm very disappointed in this manual.

This is a fairly all encompassing guide to about 1300 cartridges both American/English and Metric. Very well laid out and easy to understand. However, there are more than a few glaring errors in case capacities, photos, and dimensions of cartridges. While I use it as a guide, if it really gets down to technical use of data from this book, I always try to verify the information from a second source, especially when using data for reloading calculations, bullet diameters, etc.

It's okay but outdated. I was looking to find an easy conversion for the 8x58R Danish and it wasn't in the book. It's fine to page through and look at the drawings and information. But as far as specifics, it's wanting.

I had expected more from this book.I have a rifle barreled for the 7.5x54 French MAS round. The easiest conversion is the 6.5x55 Swedish round. It just requires resizing the neck then trimming it. Instead the book recommends using the 7.62x54R Russian and lathe turning the rim and base, cutting a new extractor groove, full length resize the case and fireform in the chamber.Which method would you prefer to use???

This book has been around for some time but it offers a different and easier to use format than previous editions. A valuable book for the reloading enthusiast, especially for those who are interested in obsolete calibers.

It is a great reference book to help me develop my loads on my old guns that have.

While it is a well written manual it does have it's limitations. I found in some cases it does not provide alternative solutions, i.e. the 43 Spanish cartridge. The book suggests using 348 Win brass and necking up. The 348 Win is derived from the 45-70 originally and I used that brass and necked down. Although being .100" short the cartridges produced were entirely usable.

Necessary for the advanced reloader. A wealth of technical information not available anywhere else in one volume. Not needed, however, for the beginner or the guy who loads 9mm's to plink on weekends, but if you load any old, oddball calibers, its indispensible.

I am not sure what to say about this book. It would be easy to be a spoiler... times two, literally. This book is about second chances and what-if's. It's about things we think about from time to time.. What if I did this instead of this? What if I chose the opposite that one time? How would things have worked out? Would my life be better or worse? Would I still end up where I am now?In life, we always have a choice resulting from more than one option. We always chose what we either want more or what we think is best. Who are we to know that that particualr decision, no matter how insignificant it seems, is the right one? Does every decision we make set off a separate chain of events... sending our lives into a completely different path?This story is equally heartwarming and heartbreaking. You will find yourself so full of emotions, you won't know what is up and what is down. You may see up as down and down as up. The story is written with such great talent, you won't be able to decide which path was the correct path or incorrect path. Reid has such a talent for messing with your head and emotions, you will be equally mad and pleased with this book.I was equally pleased and displeased with this book... I didn't know which story was the better of the two. One minute I was begging for the pain to stop, then the next minute I was smiling with a full heart. This is not like any other book you have read. It is so well written, there is no way you can't fall in love with this story. You will need a box of tissues and a stiff drink to make it through this one.

I bought this book because I wanted to believe in something more. More than fantasy fiction, more than just another novel I cant get past the second chapter on. I found it, I found my something more. I read this book in 5 days and as a mother with 4 children and a full time job that's impressive. I was hooked from the minute I started reading it. I have since ordered every books Taylor Jenkins Reid has ever written. Her writing spoke to me. It made me happy and sad all in the same chapter. It also made me think about life and love and all the choices that we make that lead us down different paths. Could stand to be my favorite book of all time but we'll see.

Maybe in Another Life is a story like no other. I love how TJR leaves you reeling when you finish reading her books. This book is packed with so many emotions and you can’t help but to become reflective about your life once you have finished it. Is there really a right or wrong choice in life? What could have happened if perhaps you had made different decisions along the way in life? This is one of my top reads of 2016 so far and I highly recommend it!

I picked this book up because I fell in love with Taylor Jenkins Reid from some of her other books and I instantly fell in love. This book reminded me of Sliding Doors in book form. What would you do if you had just accepted that drink or just gone to class that day?I really enjoyed all the characters in this novel. Hannah was a lost twenty something that just needed to get her life together. The plot all hinges on one night. What is Hannah's life like if she goes home with Gabby and her husband? Or what is her life like if she goes home with her ex? Taylor Jenkins Reid really brings these characters to life. You feel for them. You are even shouting at the book what you think Hannah should do.I loved this book. I will say that I don't think TJR can do any wrong. Pick up this book! It is a super fast read. I read it basically in a day.

One of the reasons that I love to read is because there are so many great authors out there and they love to share their work with us. In some cases, such as this the author uses a totally different approach? Style? In any case I am sure it’s not going to be to everyone’s liking but I found it fascinating. I loved the alternate stories of how ones decisions can make a huge differences in someone’s life.In Hannah’s case she ended up with totally different endings. Both good but different none the less. I enjoyed this read. And more than anything it made me think that our decisions can be the difference between one universe or another.This book will have a permanent home in my mind. I like that.

I enjoyed this book. It was a pretty quick read, but I found it to be well written and interesting. Struggle with addiction is an issue many people face. Rich Roll was able to turn his life around and find his self-worth again. Maybe at times the book focused on his plant based diet a little too much, but he sees this as one of the main contributing factors to his success. Overall, I think he's an amazing athlete who had to overcome a lot to get where he is today. I respect him for that. As for the people saying that his eatting habits have no basis? I for one can't say he's doing it wrong, the results speak for themselves. The Epic5 is hardcore! Amazing that they pulled it off.

Part of the reason for my meh review of “Finding Ultra” isn’t so much the book itself but my expectations going in. Based on the title, I was expecting it to be more about ultra running. Furthermore, I expected Roll to describe how he went from being a sedentary out-of-shape 40 year old to an endurance athlete. First, he’s not an ultra runner, he’s an Ironman triathlete. But the bulk of “Finding Ultra” is about a challenge Roll and a friend came up with to complete an Ironman on five different Hawaiian islands in five days. I think Roll’s impulses are pure. He had some dark days of alcoholism in his twenties, which he shares with the reader. He wants to inspire people by demonstrating what he’s overcome. But right away (even as a white male) I was bugged by the strong whiff of white male privilege in “Finding Ultra.” Roll’s grandfather was a champion swimmer at Michigan, Roll’s father was an attorney, they summered at the family vacation cottage, Roll went to an elite prep school and then had to make the difficult choice of attending Harvard or Stanford. (He was sure to list all the top colleges he got into.) The whole vibe of this book was basically the opposite of the true ultra vibe, which is humility. Roll isn’t even humble-bragging but pretty much just flat out boasting. All of Roll’s stuff about the merits of the plant-based diet and how cut he is start to sound like sermonizing or an infomercial, like he’s trying to sell the reader something (which I think he might be; I didn’t get far enough in the appendixes to find out). After his rough spell with drinking, which—granted—landed him in a drying out facility, Roll meets his super-hot yoga teacher wife, practices law, and they build their dream house in the California hills. Yes, more challenges, poor guy. I don’t want to take anything away from the author; I think his work ethic is enviable. Roll pushes himself harder in every aspect of his life than anyone I know and deserves everything he’s earned. Yet he’s somehow hard to respect, because for the most part his adversity has been self-created. It’s not like he was some poor kid from the projects who started running. He was a bored corporate attorney who decided to do triathlons. There are probably a hundred of those in every major city. I get that alcoholism is a disease, and Roll was definitely an alcoholic. That’s the truest and most meaningful section of the book. Yet I’m even skeptical about why it’s included in “Finding Ultra.” The drinking happened when Roll was in his late twenties or early thirties, well before his actual decision to change his life and become a triathlete. I think it actually might just be inserted to counter the argument that here’s another white guy who’s been given every advantage and has to create challenges to keep himself from getting bored. Yeah, cynical of me to think that, I know. But Roll and his buddy very literally create the challenge I mentioned earlier of Ironmanning around Hawaii. If you’re going to make up your own challenge, it may as well be in paradise, right? Spoiler alert here, but the sad or funny thing, depending on your perspective, is that they failed. They couldn’t do the 5 triathlons in 5 days. It took them 7 to complete. Yeah, this would kill me if I even tried it, but let’s remember it’s a self-made boys’ adventure in Hawaii. How many people even have the time or money to train for such a thing? I couldn’t even afford all the plane tickets. And Roll spends like 200 pages giving us the play-by-play of this challenge. I now know more about bicycling saddle sores than I ever wanted to.

This certainly is one of those books you pick up intending to read 10 pages and next thing you’ve read 200 without moving. Rich is not only an exceptional wordsmith and storyteller but the story itself is riveting.I just turned 30 and I actually heard about Rich 5 years ago somehow when i was living in Los Angeles shortly after MY dui. I totally understand those feelings of hating to admit there’s a problem, hating going to AA meetings knowing you need your card signed (not me, these people have a problem but not me). Funny enough when he talked about immediately going back to drinking after the DUI..the day after I got out of the drunk tank I went to get gas and had an open 12 pack in the passenger seat, 1 open in the cup holder, I had very much been drinking, and I LOCKED MY KEYS IN THE CAR. At the gas station minutes from the jail I just left. There was no denying this one. I was a damn fool and I knew this was it. I called a towing company, waiting in panic for the guy to arrive. He unlocked the car, no questions asked, and left. That was God saying “last favor buddy. Get your life together”And I did, for the most part. Rich went to the 109 day rehab (loved lighting the inventory on fire by the way) and I went to Hoffman, a retreat in Napa.Flash forward 5 years, I have moved to Gaithersburg (15 mins north of Bethesda) met the love of my life (after also being cheated on but not days after a marriage! Man that was brutal) anyway lots of parallels. And throughout the years I would always come across Rich’s Before and after, it’s always been this temporary motivator and truly an incredible before and after but I still ate and drank and continued to be an alcoholic. Last February my then fiancé was diagnosed with MS and despite both being gluten, dairy loving fiends at the time we discovered if we wanted to beat this Illness it was going to have to be through food and supplements. So we started on a program called the wahls protocol, which overall helped enormously, my wife Hope’s condition growing to borderline progressive right before the wedding and then being nearly symptom free for the last several months.The Wahls program was much like Rich’s eating program, lots of veggies but also lots of meat, particularly organ meats. We made the switch to strictly plant based about a month ago and the changes have been remarkable. Her hair stopped falling out. We both felt light and relaxed, anxiety levels at an all time low.We then spent this week after her dance recital gorging on junk food and alcohol (okay, much more me than her) and yesterday, massively hungover, I bought this book and sat down to read it. And I was immersed in Rich’s journey, inspired by his persistent self doubt, his frequent setbacks, and his amazing tenacity. I also found it incredible that within a year of working very hard and visualizing his dreams of being a great swimmer, he became that at age 16. I loved that he couldn’t complete his first race in his 40s despite being a vegan that trained hard because he took the time to reassess and start anew, and those were some of the biggest takeaways for me in this book. Persistence amidst self doubt and failure. Burning to the ground and starting anew. The power of humility. And how possible massive transformation really is.Personally I am currently at the part in Rich’s journey where he’s at the breakfast table mumbling about doing a juice fast. Getting back on the wagon and going full throttle, plant based.Hope and I also bought two of Rich and Julia’s cookbooks and the recipes are AMAZING, but I got burnt out. A lot of the really good ones take many hours to make, and we both work 80-90 hour weeks. I hope they consider making a recipe book for quick on the go fuelings.But man, what a book. Gonna check out his podcast next. I’m a fan! And was fascinated by the many parallels. Thanks for sharing your story Rich.

Audio book review: After some of the negative reviews I held off on listening to this for years. I was missing out on so much inspiration! His story is unique and personal and our lives and struggles are very different but you will find something in it that resonates with you. I just absolutely loved his voice, he read his book so well, I felt like I was there on the road, in the water all the way along.Now I am exploring his podcasts with amazing interviewees he invited as I struggle in the right direction to be the best version of myself.Absolutely worth the listen, even for the non-athlete .

I recently got this book after stumbling upon Rich’s podcast and I read it in one afternoon. I found his story so compelling and inspiring, and the book both easy to read and hard to put down. I probably identify because I’m turning 40 next month, but he is definitely super inspiring and a must read (and his podcast a must listen) for anyone interested in health, wellness and longevity. I also started running again and signed up for an 8k when I finished this book. I don’t know if that’s the standard reaction but I’ll take it!

Excellent! Good, fast service from the seller. The book contains many gorgeous project ideas and easy instructions. The only difficulty is that since it is by an English writer, the products used are not the same as are available here in the U.S. But with a little research and experimentation, all the ideas do translate!

Just beginning glass painting and swayed by the previous glowing reviews, I purchased a copy of "The Glass Painting Book" by Jane Dunsterville. Also, the photo of the gorgeous painted mirror on the back cover certainly helped! I will say that I am VERY disappointed as the book didn't meet my expections.Since this book is geared towards "the first-time glass painter", I anticipated some discussion about different kinds of glass paints, different techniques, ideas, etc. The book only glosses over these introductory subjects.For example, in her "Materials and Equipment" section, she discusses different kinds of glass paints. Some paints need baking and some are air drying only, or that some are more translucent than others. This is all fine and good, but I want to know what types and brands of paint are currently on the market, what are the benefits of using one kind over another, how many looks can I achieve (like stained glass), etc. There is a supplier index in the back, and it may be useful to those people residing in the UK, but there is only ONE supplier listed for the US. And I didn't realize QVC was a major supplier of glass paints to the US! NOT!Introductory paint projects should be written as scientific experiments: very detailed and easy to replicate. This is not the author's approach. She doesn't even tell you the color paints needed or how to replicate the "look" of the project. For the painted mirror project (as pictured on the back cover) she states a GENERAL list of materials (mirror, your design, glass paints, etc). There is NO instruction on technique in the project steps! They are trivial ... clean mirror, transfer design, paint over black outline, etc. I suppose the author relies soley on the 1-2 pages in which she discusses techniques in the beginning of the book. But how some of the projects looks are achieved remain a mystery as many of the "techniques" discussed should not be categorized as such. Cleaning the glass and paint smudges are not painting "techniques". The author gives artistic license to the new student prematurely by advising to "experiment" which actually disguises the lack of teaching direction from the author.On the upside, the book has beautiful pictures of the projects and useful design stencils.Overall, I do not recommend this book. I was very disappointed especially given the previous reviews. I have learned more about beginning glass painting on my own than through this book.

My granddaughters and I got great ideas and patterns from this book. It is well written, easy to understand and has lots of useful tips.

I bought this used so the price was very good and it gives lots of good information about glass painting.

Mostly about painting on glass for "Stained Glass" results. Not really what I was looking for. A little disappointed.
