About the Author
James Dean’s art has sold in more than ninety galleries and shops across the United States. He has devoted his paintings to Pete the Cat for fifteen years and has turned his natural love for cats into his life’s work. James published his first adult book, The Misadventures of Pete the Cat, a history of his artwork, in 2006. He illustrated his first self-published children’s book, Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, in 2008, and the follow-up book, Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes, in 2011. By chance, today a ship is blasting off to the moon and Pete gets to go with the astronauts.**** FOUR STARS! In this story, Pete the Cat heads to the moon as he helps two astronauts with their mission. Children, up to age four or five, learn about the basic equipment that astronauts use to train with, how they use them during their time in space and on the moon, and what astronauts collect while on the moon. All the delightful characters are feline, walk upright, and even wear clothing. The Pete the Cat series is a very entertaining way to teach children about various professions, as well as teach them how to read. Each page has colorful pictures, drawn by the author, with simple sentences. My grandson just turned three years old and his favorite books are Pete the Cat. His other favorites all involve astronauts - to say the least, Pete the Cat:Out of This World is his super favorite; he asks for it every night
The book came in an extremely thin bag without any protection. The book came wrinkled, and it is also a thin book. Not happy. Cannot give as a gift since it looks used because of the creases. Would suggest to ship with hard cardboard for protection. Update: seller refunded me for receiving a creased book.

As a former kindergarten teacher I bought this book for my daughter who now teaches kindergarten. I don't know any child who doesn't love Pete the Cat. He has such heart warming messages for all readers. Love him.
Our son really enjoys all the books by James Dean. You can tell as a beginning reader that by the end of the book, he’s reading the harder words very easily. We get every one that comes out. Very very pleased !
The Pete the Cat books are GREAT, but the ones written without Mr. Eric aren't nearly as good as the ones to which he was a contributor.
