I would probably be better off studying with no aids than this hunk of junk. Not only are most of the answers of the practice tests wrong (IE, in the question, B is 4, in the answer it says that D is 4), some of the "expert subject reviews" are woefully inadequate. For example, the math knowledge section, which is an integral part of almost every rated section for the AFOQT, has just two paragraphs of review. One paragraph explains the importance of math for the aviation tests, and the other paragraph explains what the term "math knowledge" means and which courses (algebra and geometry) explain the required concepts.All in all, this study guide is absolute garbage and I would give 0 stars if I could. The greatest problem is that I have had it too long to return it for a refund.
This book is garbage, I don't think anyone looked at the final product before print. Some bad information and lost of grammatical errors. Most the answers for the practice test are wrong, including the answer explanations. Look else where, this book isn't worth the money.
I bought this from Barnes and Noble. I wish I hadn't. I am only halfway through the book and I swear I have found at least 20 mistakes. Not just small mistakes, but really obviously ones that a child could point out. The editor needs to be fired. I haven't taken the AFOQT yet but I'm afraid this book hasn't prepared me properly. Complete junk. Look elsewhere.
The book is flat out wrong many times throughout the book; the hidden figures answer key doesn't match the test, the concept of how a NOTAR works is used as the correct answer for "what is a fenestron", and the concept for how ailerons induce a left roll in fixed wing aircraft is completely reversed. This book is trash. Learn from my mistake and don't waste your money.
This has a lot of good challenging questions that will help you, only issue is a lot of the answers for the AFOQT practice test are incorrect. Some of the answers correspond The the question but the information will be different, especially in the Arithmetic Reasoning section. Not sure about the other tests since I didn't study those. Also wish it had at least two practice tests
