So, every time i look at this book it reminds me of one of the most craziest/wonderful day of my life.. The day before my Ap world exam, there was this concert, and I had already bought my ticket online like two months ago. I really didn't want to miss the concert because i was obsessed with the boy band... so What i did was, I took this review book, waited outside the line for almost two hours, and reviewed most of the thing from this book with my friends.. People around us, were looking at us like if we were crazy, but what ever.. The next day, My friends and I went to take our Ap exam, and it wasn't that bad.. The score came in July.. Hey, all my friends and I got a 4.. Hahaha.. Plus nobody in my school really cared about Ap World, because they thought the Ap exam would be easy, but turned out this year score was horrible... Also my friends and I, we started to review this book a week before the exam, (which is totally bad I know) but hey got 4.. People buying this book, review ahead of time and get a five..
I teach this course. I find this review book to have a little bit of everything including a short amount of content review and a good amount of skill practice. Many review books have an emphasis but this one is well-rounded and an easy read.
The problem is that there isn't a SOLID AP review book out there for AP students / students who want to challenge the AP test can buy.I personally recommend the McGraw-Hill AP Achiever prep by Dixie Grupe and Sigrid Reynolds, which accompanies the McGraw-Hill textbook.Having said that, this book served one of my last year's students well. Granted, this student is very bright, updated with current events better than most teachers, and is incredibly driven. However, he swore that with the honors world history class he was taking with me along with this workbook, he was able to obtain that coveted 5 score without extraneously studying.
I was hoping for something more than this was willing to offerThe ideal book on world history for me would be a section giving a long summary of everything that happened, and then went in to fill in the missing information, not something that does what the book does and goes one era at a time. But that's just me. Everyone else I saw with this liked it, so if you want something that gives extra information in a slightly easier to read way, go ahead.
This book was extremely helpful in achieving a good grade on the AP exam! However, make sure your child doesn't solely spend all his studying time on this book. Class attendance and notes are crucial to also getting a good grade!

She will also be using it to study for the AP test. It includes sample tests with an answer key explaining why the answers are correct (there is often 2 correct answers for these questions, but one will be MORE correct). There are sample essay questions and essays as well.
